In the recent First Photo Contest organised by School News under the theme “Open”, around 14 participants showcased their photography work under various titles. As it was open to all age groups and to all states, participants across India sent their entries to compete. The Judge of the contest was Professor Tirthankar Bhattacharya Chairperson Art History and Visual Arts Department & Director Museum of Fine Arts Panjab University Chandigarh.
A good response is seen in this Initiative by School News and I find nice work from the participants, as told by the Chairperson while judging the entries.
As per judgement, Somnath Pal, Vishal and Ashis Karmakar won first, second and third prizes respectively. Other than these, three photographs have been specially selected for motivation of the artists. These three are Hargobind Singh, Shubleen Rana and Suraj Thomas.
Every contest relies on the participants who make it successful and I congratulate all the winners and thankful to entrants for active involvement.
