Thalassaemic Charitable Trust PGI-GMCH, Chandigarh in pursuit to
mobilize maximum number of blood donations for Thalassaemics and
other serious patients, organised its 206th Blood Donation Camp in
PGIMER, Chandigarh on 21st November 2020. In this camp 86 units
of blood were collected from honoured voluntary blood donors. In
previous 23 Blood Donation Camps organised by this Trust, since 6th June
2020, more than 2040 units of blood have been collected.
The Trust is supporting about 450 Thalassaemics in PGIMER & GMCH
Chandigarh since 1985 for blood transfusions and free medicines for the
poor Thalassaemics.
Thalassaemia is a genetic blood disorder which induces chronic
anaemia. Regular Blood transfusion after 15-20
days is widely recommended treatment for maintaining optimal
Haemoglobin level.

The next Blood Donation Camp by the Trust will be organized on 28th
November 2020 at Blood Donation Complex, Advance Trauma
Center, PGIMER, Chandigarh from 1000 to 1530 hours. All voluntary
blood donors and social organizations are requested to participate in this
camp
