In its endeavour to ensure adequate blood availability in the region, the
SUKH (Society United for Kindling Health) Foundation, a renowned not for
profit organization registered in Chandigarh organised a blood donation
camp at sector 22 Chandigarh.
The camp was inaugurated by Sh. Kuldeep Singh Chahal, SSP
Chandigarh in the presence of Prof. Vipin Koushal, Additional Medical
Superintendent PGIMER & Dr. Suchet Sachdev Associate Professor
Department of Transfusion Medicine PGIMER. The camp was carried
out with support of Blood Bank, PGI and witnessed 101 donations from
Nobel souls!
Others who recently recovered from COVID also signed up to donate
plasma at PGI Chandigarh setting example for the society, a need of hour
in the fight against this pandemic.
Alongside, the voluntary blood donation camp, ROTTO (NORTH),
PGIMER Chandigarh also organised an Awareness and Pledging Camp on
Organ Donation which concluded on a positive note today with 32 pledging
for Organ donation, thereby, showcasing their voluntary spirit.
Speaking to the media, Mr Amit Dewan, Founder Director, SUKH
Foundation mentioned that there could have been no better way to
celebrate Diwali this year and the foundation is grateful to all the blessed
souls who came out to donate blood. He specially thanked the General
Secretary, Dr. Pranay Mahajan and organizing members including
Taranbir Lalli, Tapan Dewan, Himanshu Barthwal, Upinder Singh
and supported by Oxford Brookes University, Gaurav Sharma and
Gaurav Goel and Akshat Sharma.
SUKH (Society United for Kindling Health) Foundation is a conglomeration
of citizens of the region dedicated to selfless service towards the society.
The foundation’s activities are focused on providing better medical facilities
to the needy and creating a healthy society. The foundation actively
collaborates with leading medical institutes like PGIMER to ensure that the
needy receive required medical care at all times. During the COVID
lockdown as well, this foundation conducted three blood donation camps in
Chandigarh in collaboration with PGI blood bank wherein more than 200
donors participated and also provided food to the underprivileged!
