Chandigarh.2 Nov,2020:A delegation of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal consisting of Sh. Charanjit Singh, Chairman, Sh. Anil Vohra, President, Sh. Baljinder Gujral, General Secretary today met Dr. Amandeep Kang, Director Health & Family Welfare, U.T. Chandigarh.

Chandigarh Beopar Mandal congratulated Dr. Amandeep Kang for joining as Director Health & Family Welfare, U.T. Chandigarh. Various issues related to hygiene, sanitation and how to stop the spread of Covid-19 discussed in the meeting. DHS requested the Beopar Mandal to spread mass awareness in the city related to Covid-19 awareness through Market Presidents, shopkeepers to place mask, sanitizers and allow entry of restricted people at one time in the shops to maintain social distancing. The Chairman Beopar Mandal gave assurance to circulate the message to among all the members of Beopar mandal. In lieu of coming festival season the Director Health & Family Welfare desired that the Food Business Operators dealing in manufacturing and sale of sweets must adhere to the following norms:

1.Display of Food License at prominent place.

2.Person working directly with and handling raw materials or finished products must wear clean clothes and headgear.

3.Food Business Operators to maintain proper hygiene and sanitation in their respective premises.

4.Take adequate measures to prevent insects and rodents from entering the processing area.

5.Keep equipment sand utensils used in the preparation of food be kept at all times in good order, clean and sanitary condition.

6.Keep the waste storage in such a manner that it does not contaminate the food process.

7.Keep the food articles like sweets etc properly covered with net.

8.Food Business Operators to properly put mask and maintain social distance during working and distribution of sweets.
