IPL 2020: Haryana Police arrest seven for betting, cash and mobile phones recovered
Chandigarh, Sept 30 – Haryana Police, in two separate incidents, have booked seven persons for betting on IPL matches in Kururkshetra and Nuh districts.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that in the first case, Police received a tip-off that some people were involved in betting on IPL at a park in Kurukshetra. Police immediately raided the location and nabbed four persons for betting on IPL match between Royal Challengers and Mumbai Indians.
Police also recovered Rs 1.25 lakh in cash, laptop and mobile phones from the accused.
In another such incident in Nuh, the Police busted a betting racket and arrested three accused on the charges of betting activities in IPL 2020 between Delhi Capital and SunRisers Hyderabad. Police team also recovered one satta register, one LED, one setup box and 6 mobile phones from the accused.
A case has been registered against them and further investigation is underway.
