UIET student receives cash prize for excellent GATE result

Chandigarh,sunita shastri:Rahul Ahlawat, a fourth year B.E. student of UIET-PU, has secured All India Rank-25 in Mechanical Engineering stream of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examinations, the results of which were declared by IIT Delhi on Friday. Rahul scored 81.93 marks out of 100.Rahul was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 3000/- for achieving best GATE score in Mechanical Department of UIET. The award was given by the Director Prof. Savita Gupta in the presence of Mechanical Coordinator Prof. Manu Sharma and GATE Committee Incharge Dr. Shankar Sehgal.Rahul, 20, who secured such a good rank in the first attempt, said that it was truly a proud moment for his family and university. Discussing his future strategy, he said “I want to prepare for the UPSC exam in future, however, my immediate next goal is to join in a Public Sector Unit (PSU) for serving the nation.
