Foundation Day Celebrations of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh Held at Punjab Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, February 20: The Punjab Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh resonated with the vibrant cultures and traditions of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh as it played host to the Foundation Day celebrations of these states. The event, organized with great enthusiasm and fervor, marked a significant step towards promoting national integration and fostering a sense of unity among diverse cultures across the country.
Shri Banwari Lal Purohit, Governor of Punjab graced the occasion and commended the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister of India for conceptualizing the idea of celebrating the foundation day of each state in every Raj Bhawan throughout the nation.

He emphasized that such initiatives serve as catalysts for strengthening the fabric of our nation and instilling a sense of “Ek Bharat, Shreshta Bharat” (One India, Great India) among its citizens.

Speaking at the event, the Governor highlighted the rich cultural heritage and immense contributions of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh towards the tapestry of India’s cultural diversity. He underscored the importance of celebrating and honoring the unique identity and history of each state, which are integral to the nation’s unity in diversity.

The cultural program organized to commemorate the statehood days was presented by students of DAV college Sector 10, Chandigarh. It showcased the vibrant traditions, folk dances and music of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. Attendees were treated to mesmerizing performances that reflected the essence and ethos of these states, leaving a lasting impression of their rich cultural legacies.

During this event, video messages of the Governors of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh and documentary films related to both the states were also shown.

The event was attended by Dr. Vijay Singla, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Kotli, (both MLAs), Additional Solicitor General of India, Shri Satyapal Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to Governor, Punjab, Shri K. Siva Prasad, Adviser to Administrator, Mr. Rajeev Verma, Mr. Sanjay Tandon, Ex-BJP President, Chandigarh and other senior civil and police officers of Punjab and Chandigarh.
