PGIMER announces winners of ‘Oral Health Quiz 2024’ for Government School Children of Chandigarh
As part of the school oral health promotion initiative taken by the National Resource Centre for Oral Healthcare of Children and Elderly, operating under the National Oral Health Program at the Oral Health Sciences Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh, a series of Oral Health Awareness Competitions were conducted from January 29th to February 15th, 2024. Based on ‘Swasth Mukh- Sehat ka Adhaar’, these competitions included drawing, poster with slogan and oral health quiz competitions.
The preliminary round of oral health quizzes was performed in all the 112 government schools of Chandigarh for children in grades VII to IX from January 29 to February 7, 2024, at their respective schools. One child from each participating school was selected for the semi-final round, which was conducted on 12.02.2024 and twelve candidates were shortlisted for the final round, which was held on 15th February 2024 at the Oral Health Sciences Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
The selected children were divided into four teams of three members each with five rounds. Dr. Ashima Goyal, Head, Oral Health Sciences Centre, PGI commended the energy and commitment of the participants and teachers of the Government schools. She believes that such initiatives would raise public awareness on the importance of oral health and its effect on general health.
