PGIMER, Chandigarh celebrated 75th Republic Day
Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, unfurled the National flag on the occasion of Republic Day of India at Kairon Block, PGIMER, Chandigarh. The event showcased the dedication and commitment of the staff at PGI in providing healthcare services to the patients.
Professor Naresh K Panda, Dean(Academics); Professor R.K. Ratho, Sh. Pankaj Rai, Deputy Director Administration; Sh. Varun Ahluwalia. Financial Advisor; Prof. Vipin Koushal, Medical Superintendent, Prof.Ashok Kumar, AMS, Department of Hospital Administration and many heads of the departments, senior faculty members, Nursing officers and staff members, and patient attendents were also present during the celebration.
The event began with the unfurling of the national flag by Director, PGI, Prof Vivek Lal. PGI security personnel March past and saluted the National Flag. During his address, Dr. Vivek Lal commended the staff as true “Karam Yogi” and acknowledged their efforts in making PGIMER a renowned healthcare institution globally. The patients across the nation have deep faith in PGI.
He highlighted the importance of Republic Day and the significance of this day in history of our nation. PGIMER has conducted 70 medical camps during Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Dr. Lal praised and congratulated the department of Hospital administration for their dedication and commitment in conducting these camps in a short time. He expressed his gratitude towards the employees of PGIMER and congratulated Prof. R.K. Dhiman, former HOD, Hepatology for Padma Shri award and Dr. Rajiv Chauhan, Associate Professor, Anesthesia, PGIMER for certificate of appreciation in the field of bravery by the UT Administration, on Republic Day.
Dr. Lal emphasized the global impact of PGIMER’s medical services, stating that they are now being recognized in the United States of America. “The trajectory of knowledge has been changed, now we are teaching the world. The sessions of Telemedicine services of PGIMER are beamed in USA, said Dr Lal. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to continue serving and teaching the world under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi ji.
The event also included a display of patriotism & Nationalism by the security wing of PGI, patriotic songs sung by the nurses.. To mark the celebration, sweets were distributed among the attendees, symbolizing the unity and joy of the occasion.
