INAUGURATION OF NEW BSF WIVES WELFARE ASSOCIATION CENTRE AT MOHALI
On 22nd December 2023, BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) centre was inaugurated at BSF campus Lakhnaur by Mrs. Ruchira Khurania, BWWA Head Western Command in presence of Executive Committee members and other BWWA members located in Mohali and Chandigarh. The new BWWA centre has a multi- purpose activity hall for welfare of its members.
While addressing the audience, Mrs. Ruchira Khurania, BWWA Head Western Command told that BWWA symbolizes a unique bond that holds Prahari Sanginis together and significantly contributes to community. During the event, Veeranganas (widows) of BSF personnel who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty were also felicitated by presenting them a shawl by BWWA head.
BWWA Chandigarh is an offshoot of BSF Wives Welfare Association, a society registered with Registrar of Societies Delhi, established in the year 1992 with spouse of DG BSF as its president. BWWA aims to promote welfare of all serving and retired members of BSF and their family members, facilitate rehabilitation of Veeranganas (widows) by providing financial assistance, employment opportunities, scholarships/education loan to their wards besides providing vocational training to the kith and kin of force personnel for their overall development.
