The students of Chinese Language on the occasion of 1st October in The People’s Republic of China organized a function in the department. It was held on 03.10.2023. On this occasion there were two Special Lectures on Significance of 1st October in China and its Implications delivered by Prof. Deepak Kapur, former Dean & Chairman, UBS and by Prof. Damodar Panda, Academic in charge & Professor of Chinese Language and Studies. While Prof. Kapur spoke on Economic development of China and made a comparative analysis of economic issues between China and India, Prof. Panda spoke on significance of 1st October in China and made a historical and political analysis pertaining to China. Both speakers dealt, in detail, with the role and contribution of Chairman Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping in the development of China which is the 2nd largest economy in the world at present. The students of Chinese language including old students actively participated in the discourse and made it lively and interesting. Mr. Saurabh, an old student also presented his views on the occasion. The special lectures were meaningful and the active participation/interaction of all present made it a success.
