17 year old inspires students to learn foreign languages.
Mohali: Seventeen year old student at Singapore American School, Nyrah Dhariwal, laid the importance of learning foreign languages to explore global career opportunities.
Nyrah, a resident of Chandigarh studying in Singapore, chose to address the students of Class 11 and 12 at Mata Sahib Kaur Public School at Sohana today.
Nyrah who intends to pursue international relations in US, can speak six languages, and said that the students of humanities can explore newer career opportunities abroad by learning any foreign language.
Though there is parental pressure to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and maths, there is equally lucrative opportunities available for the students of humanities if they learn foreign language.
She said that Indian students living in multi-cultural and multi-language environment are capable of assimilating themselves in foreign cultures especially when they know more than one foreign languages, and it is easier for them to get admission in foreign universities.
