All India Quiz on Financial Literacy at State level for the state of Punjab organized by Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh on July 18, 2023
A Quiz on Financial Literacy was organised across state of Punjab for students in classes VIII, IX and X of Government/Municipal schools by Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh with a vision to create awareness regarding financial literacy among school students. The quiz was earlier conducted at the Tehsil and District level. Around 4400 students participated at Tehsil level and 86 teams competed with each other at District Level. The State-level quiz for the state of Punjab was conducted on July 18, 2023 wherein 21 teams participated.
The quiz was inaugurated by Shri Vivek Srivastava, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh and Dr. Satbir Bedi, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, Punjab School Education Board attended the event as an eminent Guest.
Questions related to financial literacy including those related to state of Punjab, G-20, RBI and other regulatory bodies, banking, financial sector and economy were asked. Top six teams from the State competed with each other and a team from GSSS Tapa (Boys) from district Barnala comprising Master Arshdeep Goyal and Master Tejinder Singh emerged winner at State level. The team of Master Krishna Bhalla and Master Jai Bhalla from GHS, Barth Sahib, district Pathankot came second and team of Master Ayush Gupta and Master Navjot Singh Rajput from GSSS, Civil Lines, district Patiala stood third.
The top three winning teams were awarded trophies and prize money. Students from nearby schools participated in the event as audience and a skit on Financial Literacy was also presented for better dissemination of information on safe banking and prevention of cyber frauds. Attractive prizes were also given during the event to the audience.
