Vice President attends Sant Shri Dhanna Bhagat Jayanti Celebrations as Chief Guest in Kaithal (Haryana)

The Vice President of India , Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar and Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar participated in the birth anniversary celebrations of Saint Shri Dhanna Bhagat at Kaithal, Haryana today. As the helicopter could not take off due to bad weather , the Vice President traveled by road from Delhi to Dhanauri village in Kaithal where he was received by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal and other dignitaries of the society.
Mr. Dhankhar offered prayers at the temple of Mr. Dhanna Bhagat in Dhanori village and then attended the birth anniversary celebrations of Mr. Dhanna Bhagat nearby as the chief guest.
Describing Shri Dhanna Bhagat as a major signature of the Bhakti movement, Shri Dhankhar stressed the need for everyone to pay attention to the great ideas of Dhanna Bhagat and carry forward his ideals in the society. Appealing to keep saints and great men above the bondage of caste and creed, the Vice President said that no saint-great man ever wishes harm to anyone, but wants everyone’s welfare.
Calling upon the youth to play an active role in the transformation of the country, the Vice President said that if anyone creates obstacles in India’s progress or tries to defame the country, such people should be curbed . He said that there is no such country in the world , the Constitution of India has a system of elections at three levels – Panchayat/Municipality , State and Central level. Our democracy is alive at every level and if someone says that the democratic system in the country is weak , the right to speak is curbed , then such things are baseless.
Describing the farmers as the backbone of the Indian economy, Shri Dhankhar appreciated the steps taken by the government for the welfare of the farmers. He expressed happiness that an amount of Rs 2,25,000 crore has been given to 11 crore farmers so far.
On this occasion, Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal , people’s representatives of the area and dignitaries of the society were present.
