The Chandigarh Labour Welfare Board under the aegis of the Labour Department, UT, Chandigarh has organized an awareness camp with the co-ordination of the ESIC Authorities, Chandigarh today in the premises of M/s CSJ Infrastructure Private Limited, Elante Mall, Plot No. 178-A, Industrial Area, Phase-I, Chandigarh regarding registration of unorganized workers under e-shram portal and various social welfare schemes for the industrial workers being run by the Chandigarh Labour Welfare Board (CLWB). Further, during the camp, Sh. Naveen Sharma, Assistant Labour Commissioner –cum- Secretary (CLWB), UT, Chandigarh briefed about the schemes being granted to the registered beneficiary workers under the Chandigarh Labour Welfare Board who are covered under Punjab Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965.
In this camp, the department has mobilized around 150-170 workers and made them aware regarding the online procedure for availing the various welfare schemes and other benefits being provided by the department and its allied boards. Further, the Labour Department, UT, Chandigarh has also planned to organize more such camps so that the maximum number of workers can be made aware regarding social security schemes and other facilities being provided by the department and its allied boards in near future.
