DC Chandigarh chairs Chandigarh District Skill Committee meeting
A meeting of District Skill Committee (DSC) Chandigarh was held today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Shri Vinay Pratap Singh, IAS at Government Industrial Training Institute, Sector 28, Chandigarh.
The Mission Director, Chandigarh Skill Development Mission, Shri Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS, requested all the departments in the district to work in convergence towards imparting Skill Training and share the data with the Mission to ensure that there is no duplicity of job roles. He further informed the committee about the action plan for the coming months.
The Deputy Commissioner, said the focus of Skill Development schemes should be to ensure the creation of a robust skill environment in the district, which will enable the youth to get job opportunities within the district.
The DC further asked the Officers to prepare a detailed plan to promote Bakery – One District One Product for Chandigarh. He also directed Assistant Labour Commissioner and Industries Department to ensure maximum participation of Industries in National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme.
Smt. Swati Sethi, ISDS, Regional Director, Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Chandigarh, Shri Naveen Sharma, Assistant Labour Commissioner and Shri Aarav Jain, Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow, Chandigarh joined the conversation and added valuable comments in the meeting.
Principal, GITI, Joint Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Regional Director, Research Officer, Directorate of Technical Education, and other members attended the meeting.
