49th Annual Conference of Indian Immunology Society (Immunocon ’22) being held at PGIMER, Chandigarh from 23rd-26th Nov 2022
The 49th Annual Conference of Indian Immunology Society (Immunocon ’22) being held at PGIMER, Chandigarh from 23rd-26th Nov 2022 organized by the Departments of Translational & Regenerative Medicine and Immunopathology was inaugurated on 23rd Nov’ 22.
The chief guest of the conference was Prof. N K Ganguly (Former Director General (ICMR) & PGIMER). The guest of honour was Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER. Conference e-abstract book was released by Dean academics (PGIMER), Prof. R.K Sehgal.
Chair of immunocon’2022, Prof. Sunil.K.Arora emphasized the need of global discussion in the field of immunology on this conference platform. He mentioned that the appeal of immunology lies in the fact that it provides a window for almost every aspect of biomedical and biological research. The discipline is core to development of emerging therapies against various diseases. Prof. Vivek Lal endorsed the need of good science in field of immunology & extended all possible support for the same.
The proceedings of inaugural function included felicitations of Prof. Shobha Sehgal for her life time achievements in the field of immunology. The felicitation honours were done by Prof. Sunil.K.Arora, Chair of Immunocon’ 2022 & Prof. Ranjana Minz. The vote of thanks was delivered by the organizing secretary Dr. Gaurav Sharma.
The inaugural session included a keynote lecture of the world-renowned immunologist Prof. Vijay Kuchroo from Harvard medical School, USA who deliberated on novel regulators of T cell differentiation. Inaugural programme ended with a vibrant ramp walk by basic medical scientists representing Diversity & Unity of India in one frame. This programme was followed by opening reception.
Eminent names in the field of immunology will be attending the conference who have come from across the globe. The rigorous scientific session would start on 24th Nov. that will help clinical & basic scientists to develop collaborative research & learn extensively.
