With 550 Abstracts and overwhelming response, PGIMER’s 9th Annual Research Day being held on 18th November will raise the bar for researchers

The PGIMER, Chandigarh is one of the apex medical institutions involved in medical research since 1952, both nationally and internationally. Since inception, the Institute faculty has published over 30,000 high quality research articles in various national and international journals. Currently, the faculty of PGI publishes more than 2000 research papers every year.

The Institute will celebrate its 9th Annual Research Day on Friday, November 18, 2022. The Faculty will display their best published research papers from the previous three years in the Zakir Hall of the Institute. About 550 faculty members from various medical, surgical, and basic sciences departments will participate in poster discussions with Prof Vivek Lal, the director of the institute. Of interest, there will be presentations of outstanding innovative work done by various faculty members.

Prof M Srinivas, Director of the AIIMS, New Delhi; Ms. Tamar Ghosh, the CEO of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, London; and Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director of the IIT, Ropar will interact with the faculty and students at the Institute. Their presence will motivate the students and staff of the Institute.

The function will start in the afternoon at 2 pm with a poster viewing followed by a one-hour programme in the Bhargava Auditorium on various aspects of research in medical sciences including lectures by the institute guests.

The three best published research papers each in the category of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Additional Professor, and Professor in the surgical, medical, and basic sciences will receive awards in this ceremony.
