The Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies in collaboration with Dean, Alumni Relations, PU, and Interdisciplinary Centre for Swami Vivekananda Studies while celebrating the Jayanti of Mahatma Gandhi from 27th September, 2022 to 2nd October, 2022 organized a special lecture of Dr. Maneshwar Singh Kondal on “Gandhian Concept of Brotherhood through the Art of Photography. While welcoming the audience and faculty members, Professor Anupama Sharma, Dean, Alumni Relations said that when we take or see any photo in our day to day life we never thought how we can be inspired from the same and who they play a very important role in our day to day life. She also said that the kind of environment we are living can be inspire many of us through the Photos.

While speaking about the Photography and the concept of Photography Dr. Maneshwar Singh, who is a seasoned Engineer in Photography domain having good communication imagination, passionate flexible skills and worked at Various respected Positions including Manager & Technical in well-known International Companies like Konica, Kodak, Apollo Tyres. ATCO pioneer in electronic weighing scales, Escorts Construction Equipment Limited etc. Hobbyist & Passionate about Photography.

Apart from this he is a Motivational speaker on National Television Doordarshan, DD Punjabi Channel and had delivered many Live & Recorded Programmes on Traditional Indian Vastu and Interior designing along with Personality Development Talks from 1999 till date on National Television DD Punjabi and Doordarshan said that Gandhi was and would be a great personality who influenced and shaped the independence movement of India and also influenced many International figures who followed his footsteps and worked for the welfare of masses. The concept of Unity, Strength and taking everyone together, welfare of all and above all the Humanity above religion in terms of Sarav dhatam samnaata can be learned through photographs. How we can learn from him and his idea play a very important role. The present concept of Atam nirbhar bharat is his idea on the basis of trusteeship formula. The idea of Photographs can teach us spirituality of mind and compassion. He also showed various photos which show how the concept of brotherhood can resolve our personal and other conflicts.

In the end the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Manish Sharma, Chairperson, Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies. The lecture was attended by the senior faculty members of the other departments and also by the research scholars and Master students of different departments.
