Prof. Savita Malhotra wins Yves Pelicier Award 2022
Professor Savita Malhotra, former Dean PGIMER and Head Department of Psychiatry, PGIMER, Chandigarh,
has been awarded the Yves Pelicier Prize 2022 of the World Association for Social Psychiatry. This is the highest award in Social Psychiatry and one of the most coveted awards in Psychiatry.
The Prize is given in recognition of her stellar career in Social Psychiatry reflecting outstanding contributions to the understanding of the important interaction of social, psychological and biological science in the cause, course and treatment of mental disorders together with a profound commitment to the human rights of the mentally ill. This is a highly competitive international award and Dr Savita Malhotra is the first Indian and Asian and the first woman to receive this award.
As the successful nominee she will be invited to deliver a ceremonial lecture on a topic of her choosing at the World Congress of Social Psychiatry, to be held on 16-18 January 2023 in London.
