A one day program was organized by the University School of Open Learning and Department of Statistics on the occasion of National Statistics Day at Panjab University, Chandigarh. In the first session of this program, lectures were organized for the students. In which Dr. Anjuman Bhaskar, Joint Director from Food Department, Government of Punjab came as the chief guest. Addressing everyone, he said that today we have to eliminate the problem of hunger from India and ensure that everyone can get a balanced diet. He said that we also have to strengthen the agricultural system of India. Only then will we be able to meet the Sustainable Development Goals. After his address, the students also asked him questions. In the second session of this program, a quiz competition was also organized for all the students, in which Vaishali stood first, Ankush second and Geetika stood third. The winners were awarded with prizes at the end of the programme.On this occasion, Registrar Prof. Y.P.Verma, Research Director Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Vice Chancellor Secretary Prof. Kashmir Singh was present. Dr. Anju Goyal and Dr. Richa Sharma, the coordinators of this program thanked all the guests who came and assured that they will organize similar programs in the coming times. Other staff members were also present on the occasion.
