Centre for Social Work, Panjab University & Indian Society of Professional Social Work to hold a National Conference on ‘Co-building a New Eco-Social World’.

22nd May 2022, Chandigarh: Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, Chandigarh in association with Indian Society of Professional Social Work (ISPSW), is organizing the XL Annual Conference of the ISPSW at Panjab University on 27th – 28th May 2022. The central theme of the conference is ‘Co-building a new eco-social world: Leaving no one behind in Indian Perspective’ and aims to provide a platform for deliberations on rebuilding a more equal and sustainable world after the pandemic. The theme has been retained in concordance with the theme of World Social Work Day 2022 and will have delegates from across the country and abroad making their presentations on the pertinent issue with the Indian Perspective.

“The conference invite has seen an overwhelming response with around 207 registrations and nearly 90 abstracts received from faculty, researchers and students. We look forward to meaningful discussions and concrete suggestion which can help us contributing in building a sustainable new world” shared Dr. Gaurav Gaur, Chairperson Center for Social Work, PU and Convener of the National Conference. He also informed that there are several sub themes like, ‘Psychological Perspective of pandemic’, ‘Mental Health at the Time of Pandemic’, ‘Social Work Teaching and Training during the Pandemic’ to name a few. These will further contribute in bringing forth various dimensions of how the pandemic has had an impact on the society. “The ISPSW focuses on uniting the professional social workers to discuss, deliberate and develop conceptual framework and feasible indigenous interventions in Social Work practice. We are looking forward to our collaboration with Panjab University for the XL Annual Conference of ISPSW” said Dr. Kamlesh Kumar Sahu, Associate Professor & I/C PSW, GMCH, Chandigarh; Hon.General Secretary, ISPSW and Co Convener of the Conference.
