302-grams of heroin being smuggled from Delhi seized, three held
Chandigarh May 4 – Haryana Police has succeeded in arresting three youths from Fatehabad district and recovered 302-grams of heroin worth about Rs 30 lakh from their possession.
A Haryana Police spokesman said that the arrested accused have been identified as Amit Kumar alias Poti of Subhash Nagar Fatehabad, Akash Kumar, a resident of Lajpat Nagar and Mukesh alias Dhannu of Majra Road, Ashok Nagar Fatehabad.
The trio had brought this heroin from Delhi and it was to be supplied in the Fatehabad area. Even before this, the police caught them.
Police got information that three friends from Fatehabad, engaged in drug peddling, have brought heroin in huge quantities from Delhi and are waiting for someone sitting at a dhaba near Badopal on National Highway. On this, the team of Anti Narcotic Cell reached the said dhaba late in the night and found that three youths were sitting in the car. The police arrested the trio and interrogated them. When the police searched the vehicle and opened the fuel cover of the car, 302 grams of heroin was found hidden in a polythene bag.
A case has been registered against them under the NDPS Act. All three will be produced in the court and will be taken on police remand for further interrogation to ascertain the source of the drug.
