INDIAN ARMY HOCKEY TEAM WON 3RD MARSHAL OF THE AIR FORCE ARJAN SINGH MEMORIAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2022

Indian Army Hockey team today won the third edition of the Air Force’s 3rd Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament. Indian Army team won the trophy after beating Indian Air Force team by 7-6 in the final match today with a thrilling tie-break. Both teams scored 2-2 goals in the regular time and the match finished with draw. Recruit Havildar Arsu was declared man of the match.
To commemorate the 103rd birth anniversary of Air Force Marshal Arjan Singh Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), 3rd edition of Air Force Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament was held from 18 to 23 Apr 22 at No. 3 Base Repair Depot (BRD), Chandigarh. A total of 12 teams including Bangladesh Air Force Hockey team participated in this tournament. The tournament is being organized by the Air Force Sports Control Board (AFSCB) since 2018.
Air Marshal S Prabhakaran, Air Officer-in-Charge, Indian Air Force, Chief Guest for today’s closing ceremony gave away the trophy and prizes to the winning team, runner up team and men of the matches. Hockey legends Mr Devesh Chauhan, coach (Olympian and Arjuna Awardee) Olympic 2000 & 2004 and Mrs Pritam Thakran, Dronacharya Awardee and Women’s Hockey Team Coach were also felicitated on this occasion.
Organizing this hockey tournament is a befitting tribute to the 3rd Marshal Arjan Singh and a commendable step to express gratitude towards his contribution to the nation.
