POTTERY AND SCULPTURE WORKSHOP HELD AT THE LE CORBUSIER CENTRE
Chandigarh, April 22, 2022: One day pottery and sculpture workshop was held at the Le Corbusier Centre, Chandigarh.
The workshop was organised by the Chandigarh College of Architecture with the support of Department of Tourism UT Chandigarh, the Open Hand Studios and the Lalit Kala Academy.
The workshop artist, Sumit Rathi, who is pursuing Masters at Government College of Art, helped the students in modelling wet clay into pots and sculptures of different shapes bringing out the artistic skills in every student. The students got a broad set of pottery and sculpture making skills during the workshop.
After the pandemic, this refreshing workshop was an enriching experience for the freshers who were also provided refreshments after the workshop.
Dr. Sangeeta Bagga, Principal, Chandigarh College of Architecture appreciated the efforts by the organising faculty members Sh. Bheem Malhotra and Ms. Saumya Sharma and also lauded the students for their enthusiasm to understand the learn the material and modelling techniques of clay.
Recently, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Tourism cum Home Secretary UT, Sh. Nitin K Yadav and attended by Director Tourism UT, Ms. Hargunjit Kaur along with other officials from the department of Urban Planning and Engineering department wherein it was proposed to conduct special workshops for students from across colleges and disciplines to make the Le Corbusier Centre more vibrant and enhance engagement with the youth.
