Cashless Medical Treatment upto Rs. 5.00 Lakh per year per family under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY))
Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY) is a flagship scheme of the Government of India to provide cashless medical treatment upto Rs.05 lakhs to the eligible families per year. The families registered under this scheme can avail facility of cashless treatment from any empaneled public/private hospitals across the country. The eligible beneficiaries are registered as per socio-economic caste census data.
2. In UT Chandigarh, there are 71278 families as per SECC 2011 and out of these 23687 families were identified to be registered under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY). Since 2018, after door to door survey and organizing camps at different locations, total 20668 families could be issued Ayushman Cards for 68557 family members.
3. Now it has also been decided that:
i. All the 20668 families, who have been issued Ayushman Cards by UT Chandigarh to be contacted to ensure that all of their family members have been issued Ayushman Cards. Here it is clarified that in case any member of these families is residing/working outside Chandigarh then also he/she will be issued Ayushman Cards by the Ut Chandigarh, under the Scheme.
ii. The NFSA (National Food Security Act) families to be also covered under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY). Accordingly, about 47500 more families of UT Chandigarh from NFSA data will be considered for issuance of Ayushman Card so that they can also avail the facility of cashless medical treatment upto Rs.05 lakhs per year from any empaneled public/private hospitals across the country. The whole exercise of survey and issuance of Ayushman Card to new families will be given due publicity so that the whole process is carried out in a transparent manner and all the eligible families/persons can avail the due benefits under the Scheme.
4. The detail of all the families, who have been issued Ayushman Cards is available on the website www.nhrmchd.gov.in. Further the detail of NFSA families, who will now be considered for issuance of Ayushman Card will be made available on the website in next few days
