JE held for accepting Rs 5000 bribe
Chandigarh, Jan 27 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught a Junior Engineer of Bijli Board red-handed while accepting Rs 5000 as bribe from a former Sarpanch.
Sharing the details, a spokesperson of the Bureau informed that arrested accused has been identified as Amit Kumar posted at Nissing in district Karnal.
Complainant Gurlal, former Sarpanch filed a complaint stating accused demanded money in lieu of change of electricity transformer of Harijan Chaupal at village Balu in Karnal district.
Acting on the complaint, a team led by the Vigilance bureau laid a trap and arrested accused official red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act had been registered against the accused in Bureau’s police station, Karnal. A further investigation is underway.
