The 75th anniversary of independence is being celebrated in the country as Amrit Mahotsav and an eminent project of 75 crore Surya Namaskars has been taken on this occasion. Today, on the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, on behalf of Chandigarh Yogasana Sports Association, various sportspersons, coaches and sports professionals from different disciplines performed Surya Namaskar along with Yoga Ambassadors at Sports Complex-43A (GMHS-43A) Chandigarh.
On this occasion, Sh. Tejdeep Singh Saini, Director (Sports), Chandigarh Administration was the chief guest. While conveying his warm wishes to all the players and coaches for the ongoing 75crore Surya Namaskar project, he congratulated everyone and appreciated their distinguished efforts for making this event a success. Talking about yoga, he said that yoga means-” to join”, to associate with good habits and adopt a good moral conduct. Adressing everyone, He said that yoga is very helpful and extremely beneficial for every player.
This remarkable event witnessed the esteemed presence of officials from Chandigarh Yogasana Sports Association Mr. Rohit Ghawri (Chairman), Ms. Meenakshi Thakur (International Yoga Player), Mr. Jitender Singh (International Yoga Judge), Mr. Mukesh Sharma (World Yoga Champion) and Mr. Ajay along with Mr. Gurjeet Singh Bajwa (Gymnastics Coach), Mr. Vivek Thakur (Judo Coach) ) and Mr. Tanveer Jamal (ITBP). All the yoga ambassadors performed Surya Namaskar as well as several advance yogic postures. Mr.Jitender Singh, the co-ordinator appointed by the Chandigarh’s District Education Office, said that the figure of 50crore Surya Namaskar is achieved already and soon not only 75 crores but we will be able to reach 100 crores mark.
