Punjab’s drug smuggler arrested with 400 gm smack
Chandigarh, Nov 11 – Haryana Police has arrested a Punjab based drug smuggler after it seized 400 gm of smack from his possession in Jind district.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that arrested accused is a notorious drug smuggler against whom 9 cases of NDPS, robbery, Arms Act and kidnapping are registered in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
The accused has been identified as Pritam Ram alias Jhamkka, a resident of Patran tehsil in Patiala district. The estimated cost of the seized smack is nearly Rs 20 lakh.
Earlier, two separate cases under NDPS Act were already registered against him in Punjab and Rajasthan after recovery of 527 kg of chura post from his possession.
After getting a secret input, the accused was arrested by a team of Crime Investigation Agency at a naka near Dhamtan Sahib bus adda when he was on coming from Punjab side to supply the contraband.
Primary probe revealed that seized smack was to be supplied in Narwana area.
A case against the accused has been registered and further probe is underway.
