Chandigarh,7th November 2021: In reference to the media reports in which it is alleged that a lady from Dhanas was sent back from Govt Multi Specility Hospital Sector 16, Chandigarh on the pretext of shortage of staff.
On preliminary enquiry, on the basis of her medical record, she was due on December 21st and her POG as of 30/10/2021 was 33 weeks. She was advised Ultra Sound for Fetal well being. The patient never reported back to the doctor or got any Ultra Sound done as per record. After receiving report of Home delivery, a health team with a ambulance was sent to the home of the patient to assess the mother and the baby, where it was found that both were in good condition. The Child had already been fully immunized as per the protocol and the lady had already been prescribed necessary medication. Both the mother and the child are healthy and doing fine. An enquiry has been marked to the Medical Superintendnent, GMSH-16, Chandigarh to look into the matter and report the findings within 3 days….The sudden strike by some of the NHM staff and termination of their Contractual appointment has no relation with the issue.
