The Office of Controller General of Accounts (CGA) under Ministry of Finance, Government of India organised a PFMS Mela in Panchkula today with Shri Deepak Das, Controller General Accounts (CGA), Shri TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Haryana, Smt. Dharitri Panda, Additional CGA  and Smt. Devpreet Singh, Additional Director General, Chandigarh region, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting as the chief guests. PFMS Division under Office of Controller General of Accounts (CGA) is organizing PFMS Melas in States celebrating the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

As a part of this PFMS Mela, technical workshop on the Single Nodal Account (SNA) model and Receipt Expenditure Advance Transfer (REAT) module were organized on the day. Representatives from ICICI, Canara and  SBI Banks also gave presentations on their value addition in SNA model. The SNA model has been introduced with effect from 1st July 2021 with the objective to improve transparency in public expenditure and enable better cash management. SNA model ensures that the fund flow and their utilization in the Government of India schemes are tracked through which it is ensured that the unspent balances in the schemes are minimized.

During the occasion, Regional office of Bureau of Outreach  Communication (BOC) under Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India  held an exhibition on the Indian Independence struggle and cultural programmes by its artists at the venue.

Public Financial Management System (PFMS)  is an ambitious project of Government of India being implemented by Controller General of Accounts, Ministry of Finance. PFMS provides platform for efficient management of funds through tracking of funds and real time reporting of expenditure and receipts through Treasury and Bank Interface. The line ministries/ departments utilize this platform to monitor the utilization of funds provided to the implementing agencies and states governments.
