Panchkula July 10-  The  former Haryana Deputy Chief minister Mr Chander Mohan along with senior Congress leaders and workers ride on bycycle to register the protest against the increasing prices of petroleum products including petrol, diesel, LPG gas cylinder,CNG and PNG and other essential commodities in the country.                        Mr Chander Mohan and mla Pardeep chaudhery maintained that today’s  cycle Yatra  was organised on the direction of all india Congress party president Mrs Sonia Gandhi , former president Mr Rahul Gandhi and state president kumari shelja.  it was started from sector 8  from the house of Mr Chander Mohan and culminated in sector 15 market today.                   He  pointed out that during the last one and a half year a sum of Rs 25 per litre had been increased in the prices of petrol, while a sum of Rs 24 in the diesel prices. He remarked even today 35 paise and 26 paise had been increased in the prices of petrol and diesel respectively.He maintained that similarly during last one year a sum of Rs 8.60 and a sum of Rs 8.49 had been increased in the prices of petrol and diesel respectively after the May four last,when the Vidhan Sabha election of West Bengal and four states were over.  He revealed that the prices of crude oil in June 2013 was 101 per barrel per dollar in the international market and petrol was available at the rate of Rs 63 per litre  and  in July 2021 the prices of crude oil was 74.12 per dollar per barrel in the international market and the prices of petrol was 100.96 per litre  in the market today.                        He asserted that the prices of Gas cylinder had increased substantially, a sum of Rs 25.50 had been increased per cylinder  on July one and consumers were getting a gas cylinder at the rate of Rs 845 while it was available at the rate of Rs 412 in the year 2014. The prices of CNG and PNG had also been increased on July 8.                                                        Mr Chander Mohan maintained that government was insensitive towards the agony of the people as about 20 crore  people were sleeping without meal and as many as about  7.50 crore people had slipped to below poverty line. The average income had been slipped to Rs 405 per month during last seven years in the country.                           While referring the gravity of unemployment in the country,he apprised that as many as 2.30 crore  people had lost their jobs in only last April and May due to second wave of Covid. The prices of essential commodities had increased manifold,the mustered oil was available at the rate of over Rs 200 per litre in the market and the prices of petrol had touched a mark of over Rs 100 in a number of cities of the country. He demanded from the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal Khattar to decrease the prices of vat on petrol and diesel at least a sum of Rs 10 per litres as vat on petrol had been levied 25 percent on the base price and Rs 17.22 per litre on the diesel.The government of India had earned a sum of Rs 3.70 Lakh crore during the current year from GST which was 77 percent more than the last year.Apart from this, the states  government had also earned a sum of Rs 1.35 Lakh crore.The center government had earned a sum of about  Rs 25 Lakh crore from excise duty during the last seven years.He urged to the union petroleum minister  that to provide succour to the people on the petroleum products  it should be brought under the ambit of GST.
