Registration and licensing of street food vendors of Chandigarh under FSSAI Eat Right (Chandigarh) Campaign.
Food Safety Standard Cell, Chandigarh organized a camp in collaboration with Department of Community Medicine & School of Public Health, PGIMER and Municipal Corporation Chandigarh for registration and licensing of street food vendors of Chandigarh under FSSAI on 22nd June, 2021. The camp was organized at Food Safety Standard cell, sector 16 Chandigarh.
Twenty-six street food vendors who are already registered with Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, were registered under FSSAI and food safety license were issued to them on site. Mr. Sukhwinder Singh, Designated Officer, Food Safety Standard Cell, U.T. Chandigarh lead the camp and vendors were made aware of the importance and need of the food safety license under FSSAI regulations.
The vendors were previously trained in food safety and hygiene in 2019 under trainings organized by Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health PGIMER and Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. Team from PGIMER was also present during the camp to facilitate the process of registration. Ms Ramnik Kaur, Livelihood Officer from Municipal Corporation Chandigarh were present in the camp to address any issues related to vendor’s detail and vending license.
The whole event was covered by Mr. Ravinder Singh from Mask theatre. Interviews of Mr. Sukhwinder Singh and feedbacks from registered street food vendors were also recorded.
