PGIMER’s Advanced Eye Centre celebrates its 15th Founders Day

The Advanced Eye Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh celebrated its 15th Founders Day on 18th March 2021. The Founders Day celebrations started with an ophthalmic CME which included eminent specialists in the subject. Prof. SS Pandav, Head of the department listed the achievements of the centre over the last year and commended the efforts of Doctors and health care staff working in the Centre. Despite an extremely challenging year due to Covid, the department saw almost 100,000 patients. He further stressed the need for expansion of the existing Centre.
Prof. Jagat Ram Director PGIMER was the chief guest for the event and lauded the efforts of the members of the Advanced Eye Centre in keeping the flag of PGIMER high at the national and international level even during an extremely challenging year. He also assured all possible help to the Centre. This year the 15th Founder’s Day CME Program was marked by the Founders Day lecture, which was delivered by Ramanjit Sihota, an eminent world-renowned glaucoma specialist from AIIMS, New Delhi. In addition, Dr Prashant Garg, an eminent ophthalmologist from LV PRASAD EYE INSTITUTE, Hyderabad, delivered Dr ND Lakhanpal Lecture. Dr R. S. Dhaliwal, Dr Sudershan Khokar, Dr Tushar Agarwal and Dr Praveen Vashisht also delivered a guest lecture on this occasion.
On this occasion, the Advanced Eye Centre also felicitated their best employees which includes Mr Yogesh Sharma (2009-2017), Mr Ramesh Chand, Mr Himanshu Bansal, Mr Rajat Kumar, Ms Sangeeta, Mr Vikram, Ms Pragati, Sister Surjit, Sister Kanwaljit, Sister Venus and Mr Anand Kumar.
