Chandigarh. Republic day was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm in Excel society in Sector 48. Residents of the society joined the flag unfurling ceremony with zeal and full fervour. Rajnish Sharma, President of the society unfurled the National tricolour who reminded the residents of the sacrifices made by our soldiers for the independence of the country. He also highlighted the various achievements and development works undertaken by the society. The contributions made by one and all for development of the society was appreciated by him. Sanjay Kanwar, President of Blossom society also assured to extend full cooperation in the development activities in the society.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion by the children of the society which included dance performances, patriotic songs and race competitions in various age groups. The winners of the events were given prizes by RS Khokhar who appreciated the performances. The other speakers included Pushpa Chawla and SK Dhawan who emphasized that such events of national unity go a long way in promoting a feeling of patriotism in the youth and children of the society who are the torch bearers for our country.
Sudhir Malhotra , Vice President thanked the residents for their overwhelming response for organising the event.
