Chandigarh: Following the principle of “giving back to the society”, The Pool Trust focuses on acting as a facilitator the so called proverbial “bridge” in diverse fields be it health, education or providing medical facilities by getting in touch with professionals related to different fields, governmental and non-governmental organizations.
With this moto Mr Shyam Lal & Mrs Upasana Sharma mooted the idea of donating a dialysis machine to serve the suffering humanity. In COVID time wherein the Department of Nephrology has moved its 8 dialysis machines along with the staff to the COVID hospital exclusively for COVID patients getting a hemodialysis machine was a big boon. The dialysis machine was formally handed over to Prof Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER by Sh Hemanshu Jetley & Mr Shyam Lal Sharma representatives of the trust.
Prof Jagat Ram director PGIMER thanked and appreciated this gesture by the Pool Trust. He also appreciated the round the clock dialysis facilities being provided by Nephrology Department. Around 1000 hemodialysis sessions have been provided to COVID positive patients. The donated dialysis machine will be saving so many lives as so many poor patients from far flung areas land up in PGI emergency. Prof HS Kohli, Head, Department of Nephrology thanked the trust for this noble gesture and emphasized that its the intent rather than the content which matters.
