Patient Success Story :
12 year old Master Shashank from Azamgarh (U.P) had gross deformity in his spine since 6 years of age. He developed weakness in legs 3 months ago. Medically he was suffering from rigid neuromuscular type of scoliosis.
Very severe curve with 140 degree angle. Economically also the patient’s family was not very strong , so the surgery was carried out on subsidized rate as a social goodwill gesture by Artemis Hospital in collaboration with an NGO (CANWINN foundation).
The surgery was very challenging and carried an high risk of paralysis. This was communicated to the patient’s family by many prominent hospitals and surgeons in Delhi.
Due to fast progressing weakness in the legs of the child. Ultimately the spine surgery team at Artemis Hospital undertook this Mammoth task of surgery looking at the gloomy future of complete paralysis to the child, if he surgery is not done on time.
