Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided over War Room meeting. The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator & Sh. Sanjay Kumar Beniwal, Director General of Police at Punjab Raj Bhawan. Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Home, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, UT & Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services & Director Principal, GMCH attended through Video Conferencing.
WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
1. Dr. Jagat Ram, Director, PGIMER stated that they have tested 112 covid patients in Nehru Hospital Extension, out of which 42 belong to Chandigarh, 33 to Punjab, 22 to Haryana, 11 to Himachal Pradesh and 04 to other states. He also mentioned that they have tested 3,010 covid tests, out of which 386 were found positive. The positivity rate was 10% for Chandigarh, though the overall positivity rate of total samples was 12%.
The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT requested PGIMER to expedite covid sample testing, which was getting delayed due to technical problems and must be rectified at the earliest.
Acting Director Principal, GMCH 32, Dr. Jasbinder Kaur stated that they have tested 1,665 covid samples, out of which 108 were found positive. The positivity rate was 6.5%. The Acting Director Principal, also stated that they have opened 04 more OPDs in the field of Urology, Neuro-surgery, Plastic Surgery & Cardiothorachic Vascular Surgery. Dr. Amandeep Kang, Director Health Services stated that they have tested 8,300 covid samples, out of which 602 were found positive. The positivity rate range between 6.8% to 7.1%. She also mentioned that though there was increase in number of covid cases from 2,473 in October, 2020 to 2,991 in November, 2020, the number of deaths declined from 64 to 51 and the fatality rate also reduced from 2.6% to 1.7%. Dr. Amandeep Kang also mentioned that 10,110 patients were treated in OPDs. She further mentioned that 8,500 houses have been checked for Malaria and fogging will be carried out in Sector 29 today. She also informed the Administrator that 240 dengue cases have been detected this year. Five mobile teams were conducting covid checking in ISBT, Railway Station, Burail Jail, Sector 26 Market & other crowded places.
2. Deputy Commissioner, Mohali stated that they have 2,003 active cases, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula stated that they have 497 active cases and Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh stated that they have 1,086 active cases.
3. The Hon’ble Governor Punjab and Administrator, UT took a serious note of violation of government orders regarding ban on hookah bar. He directed the police authorities to book both Managers & Owners of the bar, in case hookahs are found to be served illegally.
4. The Administrator appealed to the patients who are in home isolation to approach hospitals for medical treatment, without waiting for their condition becoming critical.
5. It was decided not to go for night curfew or change of shops’ timings in Chandigarh, for the time being. It will be reviewed from time to time.
