Chandigarh/Panchkula, Nov 26 – Constitution Day was celebrated at the Haryana Police Headquarters on Thursday in the presence of Director General of Police, (DGP) Haryana, Sh. Manoj Yadava and other senior officers.
On this occasion, the DGP Sh. Manoj Yadava read out the Preamble of the Constitution of India in the presence of a large number of officers and staff members who attended the Constitution Day celebration ceremony.
Speaking on this occasion, the DGP said that it was on November 26, 1949 when our constitution was adopted and given to the nation. The day marks the beginning of a new era in the history of the Indian Republic. It is the responsibility of everyone to follow the constitution to maintain the integrity and sovereignty of the country, he added.
The preamble was read as: We, the people of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a sovereign socialist secular democratic republic and to secure to all its citizens: justice, social, economic and political; liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; equality of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all fraternity assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the nation.
Among others present on this occasion included ADGP Crime Against Woman Mrs Kala Ramchandran, IGP CM’s Flying Squad Mr Rajinder Kumar, DIG Law and Order Mr Rakesh Arya, DIG Admin. Mr Satender Gupta, SP IT Mr Wasim Akram, SP Security Mr Hamid Akhtar, Additional Director, Legal, Mr Sukhbir Goyat and other officers and officials posted at police headquarters.
