Chandigarh sunita shastri:7-days online faculty development programme on the theme: Self Reliant India: Policies and Challenges is being organized by the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh under the aegis of RUSA 2.00 from 24- 30 Nov, 2020.Dr. Simran Kaur, DES-MDRC, Panjab University and Dr Smita Sharma,Department of Economics are the course Coordinators. Prof. BK Kuthiala, Chairman, State Higher Education Council, Haryana was the chief guest addressed the participants at the inaugural session. He expressed that the theme of the FDP was very relevant as it was very important to understand the meaning and scope of self reliance for a dynamic country like India. Prof. S K Tomar, the honorary Director of HRDC, Panjab University gave an introductory talk about HRDC and its field of work.The FDP was initiated with the briefing and ice breaking session by Dr Jayanti Dutta, Deputy Director, HRDC. The FDP is being attended by 30 participants from Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh. Eminent resource persons from Government, academia and industry, shall dwell upon various aspects of self reliance in their lectures throughout the seven days.
