Sub National Immunization Round (SNID) in UT Chandigarh-1st & 2nd November, 2020

Chandigarh.30 October,2020:As per the communication received from GoI, Second Pulse Polio SNID Campaign will be conducted in vulnerable/ high risk areas of UT Chandigarh on 1st & 2nd November, 2020.
To boost the morale of health teams during COVID times, Dr. Amandeep Kang, Director Health & Family Welfare cum Mission Director – National Health Mission has motivated and encouraged all the Polio team members. Health teams are all geared up and sensitized to visit vulnerable/ high risk areas of the City. It is also ensured that all Health workers are being provided with appropriate safety/protective gears. GOI protocols to be followed during Pulse Polio rounds are also shared with all the team Supervisors.
As an innovation, a pamphlet will be given by the Polio teams to all the households, carrying the information about all the precautions and measures to be taken during festival season to decrease the spread of COVID 19 infection with special focus to control the spread of Dengue and Malaria.
In Chandigarh, the areas to be covered are Khuda Lahora, Khuda Jassu, Khuda Alisher, Sarangpur, Resettlement Colony Dhanas, Kaimbwala, Maloya, Daddumajra, Madrasi Colony, Indira Colony, Bapudham, Mauli Village, Mauli Complex, Vikas Nagar, Manimajra, Colony no 4, Faidan, Hallomajra, Ramdarbar, Attawa, Palsora, Behlana, Raipur Khurd, Kajheri, Kishangarh, Dariya, Attawa, Tin colony, Janta Colony, Bhagwanpura, Citco, Shastri Nagar and all the construction sites.
Pulse Polio Campaigns are being done to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 years with Oral Polio Drops.
Health Department appeals to the residents to extend full cooperation in this Sub National Immunization Day Campaign in order to sustain the 100% full Immunization status in future too.
