A review meeting held regarding Covid-19 situation in Chandigarh chaired by Union Home Secretary , Government of India through Video Conference with Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS,Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh along with Senior Officers of Chandigarh Administration ,today.
Union Home Secretary, Government of India appreciated the arrangements by Chandigarh Administration for tackling the pandemic. During the video Conference Sh.Manoj Parida,IAS,Adviser to the Administrator briefed that the recovery rate of Chandigarh is 90% and every 12th citizen has been tested as per the population concerned. The average positivity rate earlier was around 300-400 whereas now its 70-80 . He further empathized that the Infrastructure and the arrangements like beds, oxygen etc. in Hospitals as well as in Covid Care Centres are up-to-date and the number of patients staying in the centers is less than before. The Adviser also informed that the COVID19 Officials/Healthcare workers working tirelessly on the frontline to care for people in need, and our support staff working behind the scenes, in the fight against coronavirus.
It was also brought to the fore in the meeting that keeping in view the winter season approaching and upcoming festival season, as per the guidelines of Government of India, the Chandigarh Administration has launched Janandolan COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour Campaign by focusing on the need to follow the safety precautions diligently, as the pandemic is ongoing. The citizens of Chandigarh had always supported Chandigarh Administration and followed the guidelines regarding the same which made possible to tackle this situation in coordination and hope that it will continue further to support Administration.
