Chandigarh, July 25 – Haryana Police have recovered Rs30 lakh in cash and property documents worth Rs18 lakh (purchased by selling looted gold) during a five day remand period from accused involved in loot in a private gold finance company office in Panipat.
Giving this information here today, a spokesperson of Haryana Police said that police had cracked the case in which gold ornaments worth over Rs 2 crore and cash was looted from a gold finance company by miscreants after holding the staff hostage at gunpoint in January 2018. Five accused were arrested in this connection from a clinic in Sector-29.
Police have already recovered 81.310 gram gold, Rs 52.25 lakh cash, a swift car purchased from loot money and a bike used in the crime. With this, the total amount of recovery made from accused accounted for over Rs 1.16 crore including the value of plot papers, car and gold recovered. Further probe into this case is underway, he added.
